Having not actually planned or prepared for this trip particularly well, we got up this morning around 7am, had some breakfast, and then proceeded to pack the van. This involved a lot of going up and down the stairs ferrying things from the house to the caravan. By around 10am we were hitched up and thought we were all packed, so we set off. Halfway down Cedar Creek Rd, Lea remembered some things we'd forgotten, so I found somewhere to turn around and went back. Thus it was closer to 10:30 by the time we were back on the road and on our way.
It was a pretty uneventful trip down. We stopped in Aratula at the bakery there for lunch, then crawled up over the Great Dividing Range at Cunningham's Gap, down the other side, through Warwick and onwards down to Glen Alpin.
It was of course, raining as we approached our destination, but cleared up by the time the caretaker returned to the office and we could check in. So camp setup was in the dry.
After we were all set up, I put some dinner on (Beef Korma) to slow cook, and then we went for a wander around the park to see what the grounds were like. There's a river, but it's mostly dry as this area is in drought at the moment. A few small pools in the riverbed, where some Pacific Black Ducks, Dusky Moorhens and Welcome Swallows were hanging around.
Just up from the riverbank, in the paddock next to the park, I could hear some Fairywrens. After a little while, we saw them too. Two males and a female.
On the way back to the van, we passed the sheep and goat pen, where these three small goats thought we might have some treats for them (you can buy a bag of feed from the office), but we did not have treats so they were somewhat disappointed.

We're now in the van, awaiting dinner and just slothing about. It's about 9°C outside and heading for 2° overnight.
