Yes, you read that title correctly, we're off on another trip. The Ekka Public Holiday being a Wednesday, means that we can have a 5 day trip and only use two days of leave, so we're off to Stanthorpe (and surrounds) for a little Winter (overnights down to 2°C or so).
Stanthorpe is the local grape and stonefruit growing area, and is known for its wineries (I'd rate them as not as good as the Barossa, but you can usually find something nice). It is also close to Girraween National Park, Bald Rock National Park, and Sundown National Park, all of which are worth a visit, so weather (and knees) permitting, we'll do a few walks while down there.
Not sure if I posted about it earlier, but since we had the grey water tank installed as an after-sales extra, it isn't positioned in the best possible place under the van (it's the foremost tank, the other two being drinkable water). As such, the shower drains quite slowly, due to a long pipe run, with not enough fall. There's currently no grey-water-tank bypass, so everything (sinks and shower) goes via that tank, even if you are discharging to an external drain. So yesterday, I installed a bypass on the shower drain at least, so if we do have access to a drain, we can drain the shower directly, rather than going through the grey water tank first.
I've used 25mm (1") agricultural connectors and inline tap, as they're easy to install, don't restrict the flow and were available at the local hardware in Samford (avoiding a longer trip to Bunnings (aka Hammerbarn). Initial testing shows that it does indeed drain the shower faster. Not quite as fast as I'd like, but part of that is the drain on the shower being about the same size as your average sink.
